Why is anatomy important to makeup artists?

Learning the anatomy of the body is important when looking to be a makeup artist. You need to know whats under the skin so that your model looks realistic and believable.

Examples:

• For bruises you need to know what broken blood capillaries look like and the stages/levels of bruising

• For cuts or rips in the skin you need to know the layers of skin and what they look like
